Tim Engelhardt Delivers Desert Hearts Black’s Fourth Release, ‘Transmission 27’
Today, Desert Hearts Black welcomes young virtuoso Tim Engelhardt into the fold with his new EP, Transmission 27. Wise beyond his years, the 21-year-old has found success early on in his career as a signed artist on Poker Flat , Fryhide, Anjunadeep and more; not to mention, he followed up Damian Lazarus’ extended set at Desert Hearts Festival 2018 with a shimmering live performance.
It’s now time for the young creative to make his mark on the sub-label with a four-track piece that indulges in the shadowy complexity of melodic techno. The fervent, ominous narrative that takes hold of the EP is swiftly introduced on the title-track through a mélange of industrial soundscapes. Sharp melodic synths flicker above dark, rigid bass lines for a sensual yet sinister experience.
The mystic drive continues on ‘A Thousand Moons,’ a track that frisks on the edge of the unearthly realm. Thick horns and looming synths stretch across the track, while a hint of jazz appears through melodious inflections. We transcend to darker depths on ‘Solar Ray,’ as its rhythm taunts and bass lines glare.
Polishing off the release, fellow Desert Hearts family member SHADED supplies a rework of the title-track. The SCI + TEC regular dials in on the forceful energy, serving up a subdued yet booming rendition.
