Lunar Plane Lands on Desert Hearts Black with ‘Phantom EP’
Turkish Twins Lunar Plane enter the Desert Hearts Black ring via Phantom, a two-track voyage into the depths of melodic techno. Having garnered support from the likes of Solomun and Tale of Us, the Turkish brothers have cultivated a commanding sound that dominates dance floors around the world.
This new release toils with a mystic energy as brooding basslines build a strong foundation for the EP. Shadowy synths and a slow-burning progression take hold of the title-track, while industrial soundscapes and extraterrestrial inflections on ‘The Lighthouse’ send listeners into a bewitching trance.
Since conquering the academic realm of America as Yale University graduates, Lunar Plane looks onto staking their well-deserved territory in the music space. After debuting their production partnership in 2014, their music caught on quickly within the DJ community—Stil Vor Talent, Parquet, 2DIY4, and Steyoyoke are just a few leading imprints who’ve taken a liking to their work.
Desert Hearts Black is the brainchild of Desert Hearts co-founder Marbs, and Evan Casey, who launched the label subsidiary and corresponding events brand in August as a darker, melody-driven extension of the Desert Hearts community. Their first release—Torus, produced by the label’s founders alongside Rinzen—shot straight to the #1 spot on Beatport’s Overall Chart upon its release.
