It has been a momentous year for the Desert Hearts crew as they planted their freak flag around the world with the aim of growing their movement into a global community. From the beaches of Central America to their new City Hearts Festival in Downtown Los Angeles, the reach of this ever-evolving creative platform has welcomed countless new members to its creed.
But of course it remains the Desert Hearts Festival that acts as the beating heart of this love crusade as family new and old assemble to celebrate this signifier of another passing year and to foster the positive energy through which the world is bettered one dancefloor at a time.
In Desert Hearts co-founder Mikey Lion’s own words, “It's been full steam ahead and all systems go spreading this message of love as far and wide as possible, but no matter how many parties we throw or cities we tour, there's nothing in the world that compares to our Desert Hearts Festival. If we're all the veins of this movement, the festival is the heartbeat that pushes the love through us. It's the soul of our community and the driving force behind our ethos. We cannot wait to spend another 4 days at Los Coyotes with you beautiful people. It's time to re-energize the family and spread as much love and positive energy as humanly possible.”
Desert Heart Festival has offered up iconic dust-ridden moments over the years from the likes of House and Techno greats like DJ Harvey, Justin Martin, Patrice Baumel, M.A.N.D.Y, Audiofly, Dave Seaman, Edu Imbernon, Latmun, Detlef, Blond:ish, Monkey Safari, Rodriguez Jr and many more. And the event continues to act as a platform for Desert Hearts Crew Mikey Lion, Lee Reynolds, Marbs, and Porkchop to showcase their unique styles while fostering their own network of rising talent.
2018 will uphold the festival’s promise of delivering 72 Hours of House, Techno, and Love and continually outdoing itself in the quest to deliver a peak experience for their dedicated community of doers and lovers.
