Anakim Releases ‘Poseidon’s Revenge’ EP on Desert Hearts Black
Today, Desert Hearts Black expands their rapidly growing pool of talent with the release of Anakim’s new EP ‘Poseidon’s Revenge.’
Los Angeles native Anakim makes his Desert Hearts Black debut with three expertly crafted tracks. The EP follows up a strong track record of releases for the burgeoning artist, who’s also signed records to mau5trap, EIN2, and Dear Deer, to name a few.
The ‘Poseidon’s Revenge’ EP starts off with Anakim showcasing his signature sound in the title track, crisp percussion elements layered with haunting atmospheric pads. Then come the masterly mixed bass elements of the song which highlight Anakim’s ability to create massive aural environments that are best suited for the darkest dancefloors.
‘Poseidon's Revenge’ is followed by two tracks that shift towards a canorous direction. Anakim’s keen ear for effective melodies is showcased in the subtle buildup leading up to the monumental drop in ‘The High Priestess’ and the minimalistic yet larger than life climax in ‘Alien in the Stargate.’
Anakim’s passion for electronic music combined with his ability to produce dark, yet impactful records make him the perfect addition to the Desert Hearts Black family, where he joins the ranks of Tim Engelhardt, Thugfucker, and more. Outside the studio, he’s become a staple of the LA underground, cutting his teeth as a resident of cornerstone Hollywood club Sound, performing at Coachella’s Yuma tent, and opening for the likes of Testpilot, LeYouth, and Ilario Alicante.
